Mom discovers hacked webcam streaming live feed of daughters' bedroom

Brace yourselves, parents. I've got a story that'll make you want to jump out of your seat and unplug anything with a camera in your house, pronto.
A nightmare scenario unfolded when a mother learned that her twin daughters' bedroom was being live streamed without the family's knowledge. "We have security cameras to protect them," mom of three Jennifer, told ABC News. "I feel like I've failed. ... People are watching my kids in their home, dressing, sleeping, playing."
Jennifer only found out about the hacked camera when a friend alerted her to a post on a Houston mothers' group on Facebook. Another mom, Shelby Ivie, had shared a screenshot of the girls' bedroom feed in an effort to track down and warn the family. Ivie and her son had stumbled upon the live video when they were exploring satellite images of Earth online, and then downloaded a free app called Live Camera Viewer.
Creepily, the live feed of the girls' bedroom had been going since at least the end of July. And it had 571 likes.
So how did this happen" Apparently, one of Jennifer's 8-year-old daughters wanted to play a computer game with friends. When she didn't know the family server name, she searched for one online and ended up using an unprotected server. Hackers were then able to get their IP address off Jennifer's daughter's iPad, find their monitor and computer system and access their modem and DVR system -- which was linked to camera...
