My infant saw a tongue-tie specialist: Here's what happened

Living in a small town has benefits, but specialized medical care isn't one of them. After informing our pediatrician that I thought my daughter, Annie, had a tongue-tie, we waited almost three weeks to be seen by a local ENT specialist. That appointment was disappointing; you can read more about that here.
Even though the specialist said Annie's problems with gas had "nothing to do with her mouth," I came away resolved to try one more thing. My friend, Stacy, gave me the email address of Dr. Bobby Ghaheri, an expert in this field. Stacy's son was treated by Dr. Ghaheri and she encouraged me to contact him. After things didn't pan out locally, I sent him this email:
Perhaps he appreciated that fact that I'd already tried a local option or maybe he sympathized with my desperation. Either way I'm grateful Dr. Ghaheri responded despite a recent change to his email policy. He sent me a link about how to take a good picture of her tongue-tie and said he'd examine it. He wrote back saying, "These pictures demonstrate a posterior tongue tie -- do you see how it looks like the Eiffel tower as it fans out towards the gumline" That's a telltale sign (along with your symptoms)..." I got an appointment with Dr. Roya Mansouri, his assistant, since Dr. Ghaheri was scheduled six weeks out.
After 30 attempts we finally got a good enough picture to send to him.
I packed up all three of my girls one Monday mo...
