Last week, I explained our unexpected decision to say yes to help getting pregnant. It was time to start our daunting IVF journey; to commit 100 percent, financially, physically and mentally.
Unlike our other pregnancies, we had to be completely sure we were ready to have a baby. This was not a "see what happens" thing. Starting the IVF process means you are all in. Because you will go to hell and back, to make your baby dream a reality. Here's what you must go big, or go home, on when you start IVF:
A huge financial commitment. Simply put, we could not have done IVF 10 years ago. I feel very lucky we are able to pay for it, now. Still, it's hard to part with so much cash, when the outcome isn't guaranteed. There was a point when we were driving to make our first payment, and I told my husband to pull the car over.
