National Donut Day! The easiest donut you've never made...

Gosh, I love donuts.
Those warm, flaky, tender pieces of fried dough that come right off the assembly line at Krispy Kreme" Heaven. But have you ever tried to make those donuts"
NOT heaven.
I have attempted a lot of donuts in my day. The cake-donut kind I've got down to a science. But the fried dough kind" So hard. Seriously. It's just way easier to buy them. But when your kids really want to make donuts for National Donut Day, what's a mom to do"
Make these. These little donut holes are made in a mini-muffin tin. There's no rolling of the dough and certainly no frying. It's as easy as 1-2-3 and then you can pop them in your mouth faster than you can drive to Krispy Kreme.
A cinnamon-sugar cake donut in mini-muffin form, these are a perfect mini sweet treat for morning coffee. Oh -- and do not skip the cinnamon sugar coating -- it absolutely makes these. Happy National Donut Day!

Cinna-mini Donut Muffins
Adapted from quite a few different folks
I throw these in the freezer and use them for a quick breakfast or afternoon snack. For some reason, my kids love them with yogurt!
3 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup milk, at room temperature
2 tablespoons buttermilk, at room temperature
