Our family of 6 lives in a 600-square-foot home: You do the math

A couple of years ago, fellow blogger Sara McGinnis shared a story on how a family of 11 were living in an 1100 sq. ft. home. People -- including me --immediately lost their minds. It went viral.
How do they do that" We are a family of 5 living in a 1500 sq. ft. house, and that seems small! I was blown away, and then, 7 months ago, we made it even worse. While the photo tour of this family?s home reveals an attached garage, a space for doing laundry, and a dishwasher, we currently have none of these things. At this moment, we are a family of 6 living in a 600 sq. ft. cabin -- without a garage, laundry units, and dishwasher. And, surprisingly, it doesn?t always suck.
Here is how we are making it work.
Lots of laundry baskets and trips to the laundromat, which is by far the worst part of our current living arrangement. See: I have found hell on earth, it's called the laundromat.
If I am diligent about doing dishes as quickly as we make them, not having a dishwasher (even if you have the smallest sink ever made in human history) isn?t so bad.
Our living area is multi-functional. Our main room serves as our living room, dining room, play room, and office. We have a 6 ft. folding table with 8 folding chairs that tuck nicely in by our couch when the boys need space to drive their trucks or do Legos, and it only takes about 3 minutes to get it all back out again for eating, homework, or for a place to do my work.
