Photos: Breech baby stays in womb position for first 3 weeks

Beautiful newborn photos taken by Hanford, California-based doula and birth and family photographer Savanna Morgret, offer incredible insight into what a breech baby looks like in the womb. That's because this particular sweetheart was still very committed to having her legs up by her face, for the first weeks of her life.
Her mama, who prefers to remain anonymous, says she found out her baby was in a breech position at around 28 weeks of pregnancy. Her position, coupled with low amniotic fluid, resulted in a C-section delivery just shy of 35 weeks.
"When she came out her legs were constantly springing up to by her hear head like they were in the womb," her mom told BabyCenter in an email. "They continued to do this naturally for the first couple weeks unless swaddled down."
I was truly fascinated by these photographs. Because this angel baby got so used to being in one particular position inside her mommy's belly, that now, here she is, "on the outside," and her body or her mind, or both, are telling her that this is still the most comfortable way to be.
I'm also reminded of how bendy babies are. It's just too delicious when newborns scrunch into teeny, little balls of love.
Meanwhile, her mom tells us, "She is now 3 weeks old and her legs have relaxed a little. They no longer stick up by her head they form more of an L shape with her body now."
