Photos: Even newborn babies get their hair done, apparently

The other night, I literally spent four hours at the hair salon getting my hair colored and cut. It was exhausting. Well, it turns out even newborn babies sometimes log long hours in a hair dresser's chair. Kind of.
Photographer and newborn safety advocate Melissa Adams doesn't recommend that babies get their hair done up in curlers, and sit under a heat lamp...unless it's for an adorable photo shoot, unlike anything you've ever seen before.
Melissa explained to BabyCenter how this unique photo shoot came to pass. "I saw the prop for sale on a Facebook page that many of us newborn photographers use and I purchased it."
But none of her clients requested the set for months. "When [this] mother said it was okay for me to use [it] for her session, I was so excited!" Melissa told us the mom is an OB nurse, not a hair dresser, but that the prop was too adorable to resist trying out.
As a safety advocate for newborn babies, of course it was important for Melissa to have this precious little one's mama standing by during the photo shoot. "Newborn safety is always in the forefront of my work," she explained. "I would just simply Photoshop mom out in post-production."
Ah, the secrets of the trade! It's good to know the mini-primper's safety was a high priority during her session. And the end result has given us a reason to smile and say, "aww," today. So thanks to Melissa, her subject, a...
