Photos: Maternity nest is a safe place for mom to prepare for birth

One important goal I've had since the beginning of my fourth pregnancy is to take this special time to, well, take care of myself. That is why I connected with a fellow soon-to-be mama who has posed for a series of stunning, nature-inspired maternity photos. Several of the gorgeous shots feature what I can only describe as a maternity nest, which is part of Jordan's plan to prepare herself for a home birth, using the Hypnobabies method.
"My entire pregnancy I've focused on self-care and self-love," Jordan told BabyCenter in an email, adding that her birth plan requires a "transformation of mind, body, and spirit."
The mama-to-be uses daily meditation to access Hypnobabies' concept of the "special safe place." Her time turning inward brings her to a garden scene from her childhood home, which Jordan describes as "a place I will always want to go back to." "In this garden, my husband, baby Rhys and I have built this nest. It's where we watch the campfire smoke turn into running horses, under the starlit sky. This is where I leave him, safe in my arms, when my meditation comes to an end. It came to me subconsciously and naturally. The place we all feel at home, surrounded by nature and in our hearts."
