Meet writer, stay-at-home mom to five children ages 11 and under, homeschooler, and self-described "peace loving hippie" Melissa, otherwise known as the Hippie Sweetheart.
Along with her husband and kids, she's been living on the road in since 2016, in a 208-square-foot Jayco Jayflight Bunkhouse Model RV.
How do they make this work" "My husband is a traveling nurse," Melissa explained to BabyCenter. "He takes a new assignment every three months at the location of his choice."
Their biggest challenge living on the road with their brood is where to take the next assignment. "Unlike a regular vacation, we?re choosing where to live for the next few months, so we have to take the weather and the area into consideration. We need to ensure there?s a family-friendly campground somewhat close to his job." As for the biggest reward, Melissa says it's that her children's lifestyle is all about "seeing so much of our beautiful country and having so many new experiences."
"[The kids]Â really like moving to different campgrounds; sometimes multiple times over the three-month assignment," Melissa told us, adding they enjoy making new friends and playing in new yards and playgrounds.
