Believe it or not, two years have passed since royal fans the world over were anxiously awaiting the official announcement that a tiny princess had been born.
That princess, Charlotte, will be turning 2 today, and to mark the occasion, the royal family has released a new portrait of the adorable birthday girl. The photo, snapped by Charlotte's mom the Duchess of Cambridge, shows the toddler staring into the camera, dressed in a sweet little yellow cardigan sweater, with her long bangs held back by a hair clip.

She is just so cute!
As parents everywhere rush out to buy their babies sheep-adorned sweaters, I have one question about this picture: How did Kate get her toddler to sit so still" And to look at the camera" And to keep that bow in her hair" Fine, that's three questions. If you have ever tried to take a photo of a toddler -- not even an "official portrait," mind you, just a semi-decent picture that you can send to the grandparents -- you will know it isn't an easy task. The best pictures I have of my daughters when they were in that impossibly busy, active phase were snapped on the sly, when they weren't looking. The rest of them are failed photo shoot attempts that generally ended in tears.
