Russell Brand's dreams of fatherhood are finally becoming a reality, and true to form this dad-to-be is cutting his own path. The 42-year-old, who is currently expecting a child with girlfriend Laura Gallacher, is questioning imposing a gender on his firstborn.
Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, Russell opened up about becoming a dad and his commitment to Laura. Sharing only a little about their baby, he said, "We don?t know the gender I may not even ever impose a gender upon it."
He then opined: "Let the child grow up and be the whatever the hell it is, never tell it there is such a concept."

Russell Brand went on to say he's being diligent as they wait for baby's due date, reading "a different book every week and I read one on preparation for fatherhood to mentally prepare me for it. "I don?t know that it has prepared me for it. I?ve painted the room, I?ve done the things that you?re supposed to do, I?ve accepted the idea that that person will be more important than me."
And he's also ready to settle down. The man once known as a partier has taken to rural life. He shared:
"I?m in a monogamous relationship now so I?m a lot calmer," he explained. "I like it as a matter of fact. I live a quiet rural life now out in the country? this animal husbandry and his new venture I think will soon put me back on top."
