Bath time should be a fun bonding experience for parents and their babies, not a time to worry about mold and bacteria. Today there are many preservative-free products on store shelves, but what you may not see ? or even realize ? is that the moist environment of a bathroom can cause naturally occurring mold and bacteria to grow in your shampoo or washes. You may not see the mold like you do on food items, but it is there.
As a dad of two and a Johnson?s scientist, I know how important it is to feel confident in the safety of the products you are using on your baby?s skin. That is why I wanted to share some background on preservatives and the important role they play in baby product safety. At Johnson?s we know how important preservatives are to maintaining the safety and integrity of a product. We also understand that parents want complete peace of mind when making decisions about their babies. This is why we phased out the use of all parabens and formaldehyde releasers from our baby care products. This decision was not due to safety concerns. In fact, preservatives are actually critical to product safety.
