Sarah Chalke told her son a baby sister was coming in the cutest way

When you have a major age difference between kids, the arrival of a new baby leaves the older sibling feeling...  welcome relief or complete horror. Scrubs-alum Sarah Chalke, 40, was pretty sure her 6-year-old son Charlie would embrace the concept since he'd spent the past three years laser focused on her stomach, hoping for evidence of a playmate. ?I mean, if I just had a big meal," she explains backstage at an event for Philips Avent, her first as the brand's new celebrity spokesperson, "He?d be like, ?I think there?s a baby in there mom!??
Still, she waited until she was nearly 5 months along to break the news. ?It?s such a long wait for kids,? says Sarah who is the voice of Mrs. Murawski on the animated series Milo Murphy?s Law and Beth Smith on Rick and Morty. And it also gave her ample time to plot how exactly she'd break the news. ?Scavenger hunts are kind of a tradition in our family,? she explains, ?with rhyming clues where every clue leads to a letter.? So she created an extra special one for Charlie. When he put all the letters in a row, ?He was like, ?B-I-G B-R-O?"!" she says, "And his face lit up.?
Sarah made sure Charlie felt very involved for the rest of her pregnancy. She?d bring home fruits and vegetables that corresponded to the baby?s size (which she?d learned from BabyCenter, naturally.) ?I'd hold up an avocado or an eggplant and say, ?This is how big Bing Bong is today!? You know...
