Second-grader finds lotto ticket, pays it forward in the best way

As parents, we hope to instill certain values in our children: Generosity, kindness and honesty, to name a few.
So you can imagine the sense of pride Missouri parents, Audrey and Joshua Brown, must have felt when their daughter stepped up with an inspiring act of selflessness. Second-grader Phoebe Brown of Independence, MO, was out grocery shopping with her mom last week when she spotted something on the ground. Upon further inspection, she realized it was a scratch-off lottery ticket -- a winning one at that, worth $100.
It didn't take long for Phoebe to figure out how she wanted to spend the lucky money. She took that $100, went to Walmart and purchased canned goods for her elementary school's Thanksgiving food drive. Her father decided to match the donation. "You wonder, if our kids these days, if that's how they're thinking and this just goes to show ya they are thinking that. And that's a real good thing,? Phoebe's dad, Joshua, told KSHB. In addition to having the satisfaction of helping families in need, Phoebe helped her class win the school's food drive with total of 541 donated items. How awesome is this little girl" She could have easily spent the cash on toys and other goodies for herself. But she didn't. (Way to go, mom and dad!)
