Self-preserving yoga poses for when your kids are fighting

For many of us moms, it's about that time of year when our kids really, desperately, need to go back to school. Because the occasional squabble over who gets to play with the mermaid Barbie first has turned into day-and-night fighting. And we're about to go bat-sh*t crazy.
Before you book your spot at the closest nut house, take a deep breath. In through your nose, and out through your mouth. I got you. Here's some relaxing yoga for when your kids are fighting non-stop, that will help you gain perspective, detach from the current moment of chaos, and basically get through the next minutes or hours until help arrives. Or, until the kids go to bed.
Simply follow the poses, and repeat the accompanying mantras.
Make it stop pose. Start with a wide-legged stance, pressing into the outer edges of your exhausted, desperately-in-need-of-a-pedicure feet. Extend the crown of your pounding head upward. Relax your aching shoulders, and extend your arms out, making stop signs with your hands, as if to signal to your kids that you have. Had. ENOUGH. Breathe.
Mantra: Say aloud or to yourself, "My patience is infinite like my kids' abilities to drive me to drink."
Throat-opening pose. This is a great posture for when you have been yelling at your kids all day to knock it the hell off. Simply draw your shoulder blades down your back, and interlace your fingers behind you. Lift your chin toward the sky, and breathe. Try sucking in your ...
