Serena Williams: Having a baby will make me a "real woman"

Tennis pro Serena Williams' record on and off the court is impressive, to put it mildly.
She holds 23 Grand Slam titles, more than any other player -- male or female -- in the Open Era. She has four Olympic medals. She is an outspoken advocate for equal pay for women in sports. She is a positive body image champion. She founded The Serena Williams Fund, which promotes equity through education, and she acts as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Oh, and she had a cameo in Beyoncé's jaw-dropping "Lemonade" video -- and killed it.
Next up for Serena is motherhood, as she and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, are expecting their first child. As her due date draws closer, the mom-to-be has been talking a lot about what this new journey means for her as a woman, and as an athlete. Serena's latest interview with Sunday Telegraph's Stellar Magazine is fascinating for many reasons, not least because it reveals that this woman who exudes strength and confidence seems, just like the rest of us, kind of nervous about giving birth.
I guess I had assumed that on her due date, Serena would put on an awesome birthing outfit -- that she designed herself -- and basically will her baby into the world through sheer grit and determination (and maybe a few well-timed grunts).
But no. Serena has been watching the birth videos, and they've scared her.
