Yet another story of a woman not knowing she was expecting until she gave birth has been making the rounds, and as a 29-weeks-pregnant woman, I'm like WTF"!" I mean, this is impossible, right"
Every single thing about my physical being has changed since becoming pregnant. I'm exhausted beyond all human imagination. My digestive system is so different that between the corrosive burn of acid that constantly creeps up my throat and that underlying feeling of constant nausea I still can't shake, if I didn?t know I was pregnant, I'd assume I had a progressive disease that needed immediate medical attention.
But okay, let's pretend for a moment I just assumed I was overwhelmed with work and motherhood, so I was falling asleep before dinner. And maybe my body was rejecting dairy, gluten. and every other food group, thus the violent digestive reaction. I?d still be left to wonder why I?d gained 30 pounds ONLY IN MY STOMACH. And why there was something inside of me flipping around and kicking me ALL THE TIME. Could the weight gain be explained away by my lack of abdominal crunches" Um, that?s a stretch. That pressure in my belly that makes my skin feel like it might split if I grow another millimeter could be, uh, all in my head"
I'd have to ignore my swollen feet and fingers, the dull ache in my lower back, that my boobs are GIANT and hurt like open sores, that now that I'm in my third trimester I'm out of breath hal...
