Simple, mess-free family project: No-carve Halloween pumpkins

Eeeek! is the word, but not only in the spooky Halloween way, but in the I?m-so-thrilled-to-share-these-projects-with-you-way (see what I did there"). There is nothing better than a really simple, mess free project, right" This simple craft is definitely both of those things.
All you need are a bunch of pins and some pumpkins. You can use any ball-headed straight pins, but I used some pins with a black ball on the end. They just seemed a little more holiday appropriate :).
Doing this project I also learned a new word: funkins! They?re fake pumpkins made from super dense foam and they come in all sorts of sizes and shapes. I?ve even seen them in different colors. I recommend using them for this project. That way the pumpkins won?t rot on your step if it's too early in the month or you can also keep them inside without any issues. Bonus: you can reuse them year after year! Another great benefit of using the funkins is that they're soft enough that even kids can push the pins in so it would make a great family activity!
For this simple craft, I just used the little pins and poked them right into some mini funkins to spell out the word ?EEEEK!? So simple. So fun!
There are so many other things you could using this same basic idea. Think of all the designs you could make, or words you could spell out. Even just changing up the colors of the pin heads or pumpkins would be fun.
