Some expectant moms are experiencing total eclipse anxiety

While millions of Americans are making plans to travel to prime viewing areas for the solar eclipse on Monday, pregnant women due any day now are coping with some serious anxiety. (And no, it has nothing to do with bizarre superstitions.)
Expectant moms are rightfully concerned about making it to the hospital if labor begins during the excitement -- especially if they live in areas where there will be total coverage?the path of totality, because of expected spikes in visitors and traffic. Moms-to-be in the final stretch of pregnancy have been venting their eclipse-related worries in the BabyCenter Community. One mom wrote:
?I?m due on the 31st of August but my doctor has mentioned she would be very surprised if I make it the remaining 3 weeks. Unfortunately, I?m starting to get real anxiety that I will have my baby early on the weekend prior or the day of the solar eclipse. We live right in the path of totality and my small town is going crazy. The hospital is about an hour from our house and I could just see me going into labor in the middle of the chaos! They?re predicting 2 million people to flock to our area because of this! I guess I?m just venting and trying to ease my tensions. Is anyone else worried about this"!? Save
