Something old, something new: An adventurous baby nursery
by Molly Balint posted in Products
When I look around my home, I realize that many of my decor choices are inspired by nostalgia almost as much as taste.
Many of the things around my house -- from the pictures on the wall to the dishes we use at the dinner table -- are things that have been passed down through my family. They bring back sweet memories and help me feel connected to the ones I love. Even this winter, when we hung a giant map in our downstairs hallway, it was driven by nostalgia for my grandparents' farmhouse, a place that left a big impression on me as a child.
Not only do they add fun elements to my nursery design, I know these items can grow with my daughter as her nursery changes to a toddler or little girl's bedroom. By starting in the baby aisle, with colors and patterns that are all part of the same theme, I'm able to set a foundation for all the other pieces I add to my decor.
