Stretch marks happen, so here's how to deal with them

When I got pregnant the first time, I knew very little about what to expect. Folks went on and on about how luscious my hair would be, but no one warned me it would all fall out once the baby was born. I heard about how fun it would be to get attention for my big belly. But not one person told me I'd end up sleeping in a recliner my entire third trimester because that adorable big belly wouldn't let me get comfortable in bed.
The one thing people did prepare me for, however, was stretch marks.
It didn't matter the size or shape of the mom, they all told me that stretch marks would come. They could show up on your belly, on your breasts, on your hips, and I needed to be ready.
When I was growing up, the women in my family swore by cocoa butter for any skin ailment. From dry elbows to stretch marks, cocoa butter was always the solution. I just adore the slightly sweet, toasty scent. It's one of those familiar smells that makes me feel like I'm home.
