When I was a new mom in a new city, I was desperate for friends. I had no idea what I was doing and some adult conversation during the day would have been like a vacation in the Bahamas. I needed a #momsquad.
I found myself wishing there was a tool or a website or a speed dating event just for moms looking for mom friends. Because, let?s get serious, sometimes finding mom friends feels a lot like dating.
Well, it turns out, I wasn?t alone.
Except when Jennifer Whyte had this wish, she actually did something about it.
Jennifer said she tried it all. She went to every mommy-and-me club, group, meet-up, and event possible in hopes of finding like-minded moms. But it just wasn?t happening for her. The relationships felt forced and there was never that authentic connection she was looking for.
?I remember sitting on the couch in our living room feeling exhausted and resentful that I'd have to wake her up in 15 minutes (before her nap was over) so I could get us ready for yet another awkward mommy group experience in search of our tribe.?
That?s when the idea hit her. ?How cool would it be if I could just log into an app from the comfort of my own home in my PJs while Mila was napping and see the mommies who live near us and learn about them and whether or not we had anything in common?besides being moms!?
