Terrence Howard's "second batch" of kids literally won't hurt a fly

At the age of 48, it's safe to say Terrence Howard is being intentional about his parenting. The Empire actor, who has children ranging in age from 23 years to 7 months, is not only set on making plenty of time, he's kind to everything.
"I was 24 when I started my first batch," he told People while speaking about how fatherhood is different this time around. "I was still becoming a man. I didn?t really put the time in to my kids. I called them every day and they said they saw me more than enough, but I feel like I missed out on a lot of personal time with them. Now I'm more conscious and present this time around."
That includes teaching 22-month-old Quirin, and 7-month-old Hero (his children with third wife Mira Pak) that every living thing has value. "He refuses to kill a fly," Pak explained. "And we're trying to teach our kids not to pick flowers."
After Mira's mention of a fly, Terrence Howard took the topic and ran with it.
"I know in those two weeks or month of a fly?s life, that?s 80 years for them. And we smash them so quickly," he explained. "I hope if someone saw me trapped, some bigger creature would help me."
"If everyone on this planet just acted like a blade of grass, this would be a beautiful place. A blade of grass only takes what it needs. And if you break it, it doesn?t spend its time cursing you out and trying to hurt you in return, it just keeps growin...
