Thank goodness for the gigantic third trimester belly

I remember the exact day I took my pregnancy test. My period was only two days late, so at just about 4 weeks I knew I was expecting. Knowing so soon and being aware of the changes that were taking place in my body was such a weird space to be in. Here I was, doing this incredibly magical thing of growing another human, and no one could tell.
Since people weren't able to see that I was pregnant, I pushed back my urge to talk about the little flickering spark in my womb that would eventually grow into my baby boy. As much as I wanted to talk about how excited I was, or rub my nonexistent belly to spark a conversation, I held back because it was way too soon.
Now that I'm on my last leg of this pregnancy ride, it's all anyone ever wants to talk about. It's crazy how different the third trimester is from the first one. Way back in the beginning, the only thing that gave folks an indication that something was different with me is that I was so tired. Now, I'm tired, swollen, and have a gigantic stomach. Everywhere I go, I hear some of the same things. "When are you due""

I have to say, I'm loving the attention. I appreciate the way my big belly has strangers looking me in the eyes and smiling at me. I really like the long conversations I've had with introverted neighbors who barely even said hi before. Most importantly, I'm relishing these last moments of b...
