The joy of welcoming a rainbow baby hits dads hard, too

The tattoo this sweet newborn is leaning her head against isn't just any piece of work inked on a whim, it's a tribute to the first pregnancy Hunter and his wife, Hope, lost. Knowing that, it's easy to see why this dad was so emotional when baby girl Evelyn made her way into the world.
Birth photographer Leilani Rogers had the honor of capturing the moment this rainbow baby arrived, and has graciously agreed to share the family's images with our BabyCenter Blog readers.
"Hope laboured like a champ for 24 hours on Pitocin," Leilani shared. "When her body began to shut down a bit she got an epidural, rested for a few hours, and then gave birth effortlessly to sweet Evelyn the next morning." The image above of Hunter holding Evelyn to his chest was taken just 20 minutes after the birth.
"This is a story about a mum and a dad who went through loss and persistence to get their baby," Leilani's Instagram caption of the emotional photo reads.
"That tattoo on his chest was done after their first miscarriage, and now his daughter lies her sweet head against it. Both of them a reminder of triumph."
