The mom uniform you'll wear on repeat--yes leggings are involved
by Laura Falin posted in Life
I'm going to end one of the most polarizing battles of the past few years.
Breast vs. bottle. Co-sleeping vs. crib sleeping. Pshaw. Whatever. Listen up.
Leggings are too pants. They are. And they're marvelous.
They are, in fact, the perfect pants for new moms...okay, any moms. We need to be comfortable. We need to be able to move. We need to be able to scoop up running toddlers and shush gassy babies and run a potty-training kid to the toilet in our outstretched arms. Sometimes, we also need to climb up inside the McDonald's play structure tube to rescue a preschooler who's decided he's not coming out until tomorrow.
So we need clothes that move with us. We need clothes that aren't too precious in case the potty-training kid doesn't make it in time. Some of us need them to be nursing-friendly, and some of us need them to not squish our battered lady bits or hit us right in the c-section scar while we're still recovering. I've got your outfit for all of that. It works well for postpartum mamas but looks pulled together enough that you can wear it even when your kids are older.
Here it is:
Your New Favorite Mom Uniform:
Let's break this down a little.
1.) Leggings with Flair
Leggings look more pulled together and more...interesting...when they have texture, or cutouts, or something a little unexpected. I have a pair of moto leggings similar to these, and a pair of these cutout leggings from Amazon ($20! Score!) and I really like both of them....
