The most beautiful moments of motherhood aren't always pretty

Recently I snapped a photo that wasn?t planned or even something I'd normally think to capture. But it wound up being a greatly realistic picture of my son and me. It made me realize something: Sometimes the most beautiful moments aren?t always pretty.
Not that this was the best moment of my life. My 3-year-old son was being clingy (he's going through a phase) and glued to me almost the whole day (which I don?t mind, but it was a work day). He fell asleep on my arm and I couldn?t move him. I couldn't move to put him down (he?d wake up). And I couldn't budge to grab my camera. So I turned on the webcam from my computer and captured the moment, messy hair, messy room and all.
This little moment inspired me to remember to capture the imperfect moments in my life as well. I'm pretty sure I'm not one of those people who come across as having it all together. I mean I hope not. I try to keep it real and let you know I'm terrible at cooking meals for my family and my house is usually a wreck. My husband and I don?t always agree and our dog could use more attention.
I do spend a lot of time documenting some of the photogenic aspects of our lives. My daughter who adores playing dress up, my goofy son who seems to always be laughing, and so much in between. I do capture a lot of candids, but even those sometimes involve a bit of strategizing. You know -- like hiding the clutter in my kitchen.
Admittedly, most of the time I do have my fancy DS...
