The most diva thing Mariah Carey's done" The way she gave birth
by Sara McGinnis posted in Pregnancy
Mariah Carey's reputation as a diva is, apparently, well-earned. Not only did she demand privacy while giving birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe, she made some very specific musical requests.
We have the singer's ex-husband, Nick Cannon, to thank for spilling the details. While appearing on The Wendy Williams show, the 36-year-old was asked, "What's the most diva thing that you've ever seen Mariah do""
"Have twins," Cannon replied. "She shut the whole hospital down."
"When they was born, she made me play her music as they was coming out," he continued. "It was a fantasy. They was dancing...to 'Fantasy.'"
Couple that info with this bit Nick shared previously: "Now my wife wanted to make sure that when the babies came out, that they came out not only to a Mariah Carey song, but a live performance from Mariah Carey -- her Madison Square performance of 'Fantasy' -- so they came out to a round of applause."
Need a refresher" Here's the 1996 performance Mariah chose to accompany Moroccan and Monroe's 2011 arrival.
Pregnancy can make one feel "kind of hectic inside," I suppose"
Honestly though, I don't find it all that weird she chose a certain song for them to be greeted by. I didn't intentionally plan it, but my first son was born to George Winston's piano amazingness. In hindsight, it worked out quite well because that music reminds me of my own mom.
