The rock star plans I had for 2 days alone at a hotel -- and what I did instead

I had this certificate for two nights at a fancy hotel, so I made grand plans for a stay.
In my mind, I mean. I didn?t do anything with the certificate for the longest time. It seemed like such a decadent thing, I never made it a priority. And just having the certificate in my possession was nice.
I enjoyed daydreaming about my stay, because it was almost as satisfying as taking the time away, and I didn't have to pack. Finally, in a mad dash to use the certificate before the expiration date, my husband made the reservation and sent me off with stern instructions to enjoy myself.
I won?t lie. Once it was in motion, I was excited by the possibility of having some time alone.
Pre-baby, I was a mostly solo traveler, and I liked it that way. Post-baby" Well, ?me? time is almost nonexistent. I am the cook, the appointment-maker, the housekeeper, the bather, the butt-wiper, the bedtime story reader, the human trampoline, the one who pulls it all together on a daily basis. It is difficult to be everything to everyone. In that way, I kinda understand what it means to be Beyoncé.
Sometimes I pretend I need to poop and I sit in a locked bathroom for five minutes, just to steal some time for myself. ("Poopcation," I call it.) So a whole weekend away" It was on.
Here is what I planned:
? Sleep until noon.
? Order room service.
? Go for a run.
? Relax in a long bubble bath.
? Order a movie.
? Enjoy margaritas po...
