The trending DIY pregnancy test you should probably skip

For women who suspect they might be pregnant but don't have a traditional HCG test on hand, a common toiletry item could (but probably doesn't) hold the answer.
Apparently, toothpaste is where's it's at, folks -- and there are even YouTube tutorials to help you every step of the way. (This one is closing in on 2 million views. Holy pee!)
The theory here is if the toothpaste gets foamy and turns a blueish color after you mix in your morning urine, you're pregnant. And if there's no change, then you're not. (I'm guessing it's probably a good idea to avoid already-blue toothpaste.) Seems pretty straightforward, right" Except for one little catch: There's zero evidence proving this is a bonafide way of confirming pregnancy. "When women become pregnant, their bodies begin to produce the hormone human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG,)" Professor Mark Kilby, a spokesperson for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists recently told The Sun. "HCG can be detected in a woman's urine by a pregnancy test. There is no evidence that toothpaste can detect HCG in a woman's urine, and women should not rely on DIY methods to confirm if they are pregnant or not."
Translated:Â Just go buy a pregnancy test already.
But still. I can't be the only one who has an urge to pee on some toothpaste now. I'm almost 100 percent positive I'm not pregnant -- because Aunt Flo and the fact that I test every month to be sure -- b...
