Serena Williams is a mom! The tennis pro and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, have welcomed their first child.
Serena and Alexis insisted that they didn't know the sex of the baby on the way, but had a strong feeling it was a girl: "So few surprises in life these days," the expectant mom recently explained. "That?s why I'm waiting to find out the sex of the baby." It turns out their instinct were right! According to reports, the couple's daughter arrived on September 1 weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces.
Congratulations have been pouring in, and it looks like the little one already has some very famous fans. Auntie Venus Williams was of course among the first to respond, telling reporters at the U.S. Open, "Obviously I'm super excited, words can't describe." And here's one for the baby book: Beyoncé herself sent a note of congratulations to Serena, who you may recall made a scene-stealing cameo in the singer's 'Lemonade' video last year.

While the proud new parents have yet to comment publicly on their new arrival, Serena was very open throughout her pregnancy. She posed for more than one belly-baring photo shoot and gave interviews admitting to her insecurities about impending motherhood ("I have never been around babies. I need a Baby 101 class!").
