There's adulting school now because everybody's so useless

There are some adulting categories where I'm a flat-out failure. Yes, I can cook a balanced meal and fold a fitted sheet (thanks, Mom!), but I can't, for the life of me, figure out health insurance. Tax season gives me an ulcer. I am strong, I am smart, and I am capable at most things -- but it's turned out there are a few things I just can't adult at.
Realizing this makes me worried for my boys. They're 12 and 10 years old right now. If I do a good job passing on my know-how then they'll be able to cook a meal and properly make a bed, but what about the stuff I struggle with" It's not taught in traditional schools, so how will they fare any better than I have"
Apparently I'm not the only one feeling this particular pain. A new school in Maine called The Adulting School, has opened its doors to teach the young and struggling so they can become successful grown-ups -- not just imposters.
The bold print on the school's front page reads: "You're smart and capable -- your education just didn't provide you with all the skills you need."
And though I did take Home Ec in high school, I have to agree. The (very) little I did learn that trimester has become quickly outdated thanks to things like online bill pay. This new school offers courses in financial basics, health and wellness, make-it and fix-it skills, and relationships and community.
