These end-of-the-school-year theme days are crushing my soul

The end of the school year is so close I can almost taste it.
With that said, having spent months rising to the challenge of kindergarten sight words, math flash cards, permission forms, spelling tests, baggie books, worksheets, packing lunch and snacks, book fairs, holiday parties, field trips, daily pick-up and drop-off with two little sisters in tow, I'm pretty much limping to the finish line. "We can do this," I whisper to myself each morning. "Only X more weeks of the grind until summer. Until sweet, sweet freedom."
Next thing I know, this soul-crushing piece of paper comes home.
Oh, cool. An alphabet countdown. Twenty-six straight days of wearing/bringing something special to school -- meaning one more item to remember every morning as I'm scrambling to get three kids out of the door. It's like "spirit week." ON STEROIDS. *Eye twitches* Deep breaths. We can do this.
The very next day, I find this gem in my son's folder.
This conflicting week of double duty pushed me over the edge. Drowning in ridiculous themed days during the LAST MONTH OF THE SCHOOL YEAR just isn't happening. Enough is enough.
Here are a few thoughts I have swirling in my head, as a result of these two seemingly innocent pieces of paper:
? I don't remember this many themed days from my years in school. (Yep, now I'mofficialy the "back in my day" parent.)
