These parents' funny notes to kids are pretty much spot on
by Carolyn Robertson posted in Parenting
A large part of parenting is just repeating yourself over and over and over again. So often, actually, that you might start to feel like you're losing your mind. You're not. This is totally normal.
What it is you're saying changes as your kids age. When they're tiny, you'll find yourself getting used to telling them things like, "No cars in the toilet!" and "Don't chew on the cat!" As my own daughters have gotten a bit older, my go-to phrases seemed to become, "Put your plate in the dishwasher!" and "Don't roll your eyes at me!"
So yeah, I'm basically my mother now.
Then one day you look up and realize that your little ones aren't so little anymore. You realize they're not around as much anymore, either, drawn out of the cozy cocoon of home for early morning track practices and after school play dates. The kids that used to be underfoot all day long now have a social calendar way busier than your own. Such is the bittersweet roller coaster we call parenting. As a result, moms and dads sometimes need to find creative ways to communicate with their bigger kids. Take a look at this collection of parenting notes recently posted on the Mom Life Facebook page and shared by The Daily Mail:
I'm definitely stealing the one about the perpetually overflowing trash can.
Do you have any parenting notes to add to the list"
