This is what a childhood of love does to a stuffed animal

In 1995, a 2-year-old received a stuffed cat from his great-aunt. He named it "Kitty Cat," and took it everywhere with him.
Much to the family's surprise, when the great aunt passed away it was revealed she had purchased two of the same cat, just in case the first got lost. Two decades later, here's how the pristine kitty and thoroughly loved version compare:
If one of your children has a favorite toy, stuffed animal, or "lovey" they snuggle you can surely empathize with the bittersweetness of dirty Kitty Cat.
After Reddit user Connguy shared the story of discovering the back-up kitty other Redditors were quick to chime in with their own stories of lovies.
"My oldest son had a stuffed Lamb-y when he was a toddler," TheFrontierzman commented. "If you pulled the tail it played a lullaby. He misplaced it but we'd bought a backup. Apocalypse avoided." User Nathonator shared their younger brother discovered his backups early on, and from "then on my parents had to keep track of 3 knuffle bunnies."
But for user Yaya46, it was trying to fix up an old lovey that was most emotional of all.
"My daughter loved her blanket until a hole formed and I don't sew that good," she shared. "My friend did and I asked her to fix it. I expected just a couple of stitches but she went over every rip, mangle and small hole she found and lovingly stiched them up with hearts, and flowers.
