This smart sippy cup will prevent so many tantrums
by Joyce Slaton posted in Products & Prizes
Straw cups are often easier to master than sippy cups that toddlers and babies have to suck on, but there's one huge design flaw that drives kids crazy: If you tip the cup, you can't drink! Children used to upending containers to pour everything out, and bottles to get the last few drops out have a devil of a time learning how to hold the cup level to the ground.
But b.box's Essential Sippy Cup has a supersmart "why didn't I think of that"" innovation: The straw is curved, and weighted. If you tip the cup, even turn it upside down, the bottom of the straw moves right along with the liquid, so kids can drink from it at any angle.
Sometimes it's the small things that really rock your world, particularly when it comes to parenting. My daughter had a particularly hard time learning how to drink from a straw cup, and I remember her toddling to me many a time crying and holding out her "broken" straw cup for me to fix.
