Turns out no one thinks it's funny to mess with someone's birth control

"Unbeknownst to poor Nikki, she didn?t realize that I was going to go in her purse and take out her birth control."
These are the words Ian Somerhalder shared during a recent podcast, which kicked off a firestorm of comments. While chatting on Dr. Berlin?s Informed Pregnancy, the husband of actress Nikki Reed continued: "We decided that we wanted to have children together, and it was just time."
"By the way, it was the beginning of the pack, so I had to pop all those suckers out. It is a lot of work, especially after a little bit of sangria," the 38-year-old actor added, insisting he did it without his wife's permission. The act was filmed by friends the couple was vacationing with in Spain. While the couple had talked about starting a family, that bit of information is doing little to calm those accusing Somerhalder of reproductive coercion. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, that "involves behavior intended to maintain power and control in a relationship related to reproductive health."
"This behavior includes explicit attempts to impregnate a partner against her will, control outcomes of a pregnancy, coerce a partner to have unprotected sex, and interfere with contraceptive methods."
