Using gray as your nursery's backdrop color: Get the look

Before I even knew I was expecting twins and what their genders were, I already knew I wanted to incorporate gray into the nursery. I have two older children and had already had fun with bright colors in their rooms, so this time I wanted a fresh, soothing nursery that was also budget-friendly.
There is something about gray that just works as a backdrop to a beautiful room. But since I didn't want things too dark or somber, I decided to offset the crisp gray in my twins? nursery with pops of sunny-feeling yellow and white.
I knew I had to incorporate our existing dresser and changing table, both dark-stained wood, and I decided to add some white pieces of furniture for an eclectic feel. You tend to accumulate a lot stuff with twins, so I began using decorative laundry baskets as toy baskets. They definitely come in handy, making for a fast and easy tidy-up.
Instead of going the "baby-themed" route with decorative accents, I hunted for items that were rustic, modern, and natural. I love the way these pieces play against the more traditional furniture pieces I chose.
One of my go-to stores for great finds at the best prices is Walmart. When shopping there for my kids' rooms, I don't just stick to the nursery and kids' decor areas, I branch out and often find the best pieces in Walmart's home section.
