A new video featuring moms holding their babies for the first time WILL make you cry. This is, quite simply, an inevitability.
Birth photographer Monet Moutrie of Birth Becomes Her created the deeply-moving short film in honor of Mother's Day. But the tribute to moms everywhere is just as relevant today, and every day.
?I did it, I did it, I did it,? one mom keeps saying as she pulls her baby out onto her chest.
?Oh my God!? repeats another mama, sobbing, in disbelief that she is finally cradling her newborn in her arms.
Relief. Love. Sheer joy.
Each birth is different; some are in the water, some on the sofa, some via c-section. Same-sex couples, couples from different ethnic backgrounds. But all moms are united by common emotions in the life-affirming moments of birth.
So many tears. SO. MUCH. LOVE.

In all seriousness, this video has given me, an expectant mom, so much to look forward to. Because I know from experience what it feels like to carry a baby for 9 never-ending months. Then labor through body-splitting contractions. Only to finally, at long last, feel that slippery, soft skin against your own. See that beautiful face you've fantasized over for nearly a year. Look into those wide, wondering little eyes. And know that you did it. He or she is here, in your arms, safe.
