My children love snuggling up to read books, most of the time cycling through the same dozen over and over and over again. Probably one of their all-time favorites, though, is Llama LlamaRed Pajama by the late Anne Dewdney.

If your kids love Dewdney's timeless characters as much as mine do, you'll appreciate this epic freestyle rapping rendition of Llama Llama Red Pajama by Ludacris. Yep. You read that right. As a part of a regular segment where rappers freestyle over a beat with books in their hands, the rapper/actor and dad of four (who knew") offered up a fresh take on the beloved children's tale. I'm telling you, Llama Llama Red Pajama is the gateway drug into Anna Dewdney's world. One read-through and my kids were hooked. I mean, I've read it many times, the kids and I all have it memorized. Maybe they wouldn't mind following along with Ludacris next time" There's a thought. What is it about these books anyway" How relatable they are from both the kids' and parents' perspectives" (I so feel that grocery store tantrum in Llama Llama Mad at Mama.) The bright, colorful illustrations" The catchy rhyming and rhythm of the words as they effortlessly bounce off your tongue" Maybe that's why Ludacris had such success with his recent performance.
Now if only he could create a video of Love You Forever (so I don't have to try to read through tears...
