How many times have you second guessed your parenting decisions" I?ll be the first to raise my hand to say that I?ve lost count. We?ve all been unsure of our choices as parents at some point. Whether it?s grappling with how to successfully breastfeed, deciding on a punishment for a child, or dealing with our children?s school drama. Being a confident parent isn?t something that happens overnight. It takes time.
I was chatting with another mom the other day. She confessed that she had no idea what to do when her child was hit by a classmate. The mother went on to explain that she arrived at school to pick up her 6-year-old daughter when out of nowhere another girl punched her in the stomach. ?What did you do"? I asked.
?Nothing. I didn?t know what to do,? she replied.
I couldn?t understand why this woman didn?t do anything after witnessing her child being assaulted by another little girl. But then I began to empathize with her. I thought of the times when I wasn?t sure what to do in certain situations. I'll admit there are times when I don?t feel confident in dealing with some issues.
