Watch Duchess Kate handle Charlotte's public tantrum like a pro
by Carolyn Robertson posted in Parenting
Traveling with young kids in tow can be practically impossible -- just ask Prince William and Duchess Kate! The royal parents had to deal with their daughter Charlotte's public meltdown on their recent trip to Europe... and it was all caught on camera, of course.
The tantrum happened at the tail end of the family's busy 5-day visit to Germany and Poland. When it came time to board the plane at Hamburg Airport, the 2-year-old seemed to flat out refuse. In typical toddler style, little Charlotte stomped her feet and made faces and eventually collapsed onto the tarmac -- a move that is likely all too familiar to many parents of 2-year-olds!
If the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were stressed out by the little Princess' display, they didn't show it. Kate's cool and collected response seems to prove that she has plenty of experience dealing with the so-called Terrible Twos. The mom-of-two was seen smiling as she chatted to her daughter, no doubt trying to distract her from whatever it was that was bothering her so much. She soon stopped and crouched next to her adorable little girl, following the age-old expert advice to get eye-level when talking to a toddler in distress. Eventually, Kate coaxed Charlotte off the ground and let William help usher her up the stairs of the waiting airplane.
While all of this likely happened in a matter of seconds, as any mom who has endured a public tantrum will tell you, it probably felt like a good half...
