We asked, you answered: The very best parenting advice from our fans
by Sara McGinnis posted in Parenting
What one bit of advice would you give to a new parent" That's the question BabyCenter recently posed to our Facebook fans, and you all had plenty to say.
From taking a moment for yourself to having baby two, take a peek at what others walking in the same shoes as you had to share...
Erin Menchaca DiCecco: People will romanticize having a newborn and say "enjoy every moment" and how magical it is... but it's impossible to enjoy EVERY moment, most moments are hard, and parts of parenthood just plain suck. It's okay to not feel a glowing, magical love 24/7. It's the hardest work, and it's okay to ask for help!
Cassondra Rogers: Don't believe anyone that says holding a baby too much will spoil them. Caitie Marie Rappelli: Take the shower! You?ll feel so much more refreshed and ready to handle the day if you take 10 minutes for yourself to wash your hair, throw on some fresh yoga pants, and a little mascara. The baby may fuss for a few minutes but that short amount of time is so necessary for your sanity.
Nicol Stephenson: Do the research, form your own opinions, don't listen to what everyone says even if they are older, and if it doesn't feel right, you're probably right. Relax, breathe, you've got this.
Annie Elizabeth Reynolds: Sleep when baby sleeps. If the house is a mess, who cares, get your rest. Everyone will understand if you have visitors when baby is born they may even help you. My sister came and cleaned my house...
