What's the best age to take kids to Disney World"
by Melissa Byers posted in Mom Stories
In total, I've visited Walt Disney World in Florida 15 times. Twelve of those trips occurred after my children were born. Their first trip was at 13 months and their most recent was last week, at ages 11 and 12.
Maybe it's because my own kids didn't need much tending to on this trip, but I couldn't help but to notice moms and their little ones. All the little kids, babies through preschoolers, caught my attention and they got me thinking about how different our experience was on this vacation compared to the trips in our past.
I've got three things that struck me the most.
Strollers: the pros and cons
I've been that mom with two itty bitties in a huge double stroller. We got smart a few trips in and, instead of lugging ours, we rented from a local company. Some rent from the parks. They aren't terribly comfortable, but you don't have to haul them around. Use them for the day, leave them behind, get a new one at the start of the next day.
The rental company I use allowed access to them 24/7, which worked great when we had exhausted little ones and a long walk from the bus stop to the hotel room. The downside is folding that bad boy up and maneuvering it onto a crowded bus.
While they can be a pain, strollers are a great spot to store your stuff, They allow for mid-day naps, and got us from one place to another much faster than little legs could hustle. We used one until our girls were 6 and 7. Judge me if you want, but it worked.
