What if your crazy pregnancy aversion is your husband"
by Whitney Barthel posted in Pregnancy
We all know of the food aversions that usually accompany pregnancy. Just the smell of once-loved meats, cheeses, and treats can be enough to send you right over the edge.
But I?m here to talk about those other aversions that are pregnancy-induced: the unexplainable sights, smells, and sometimes sounds that can be equally nauseating.
For me, mine is terrible. It?s my husband. I cannot stand the way he smells. And it?s not just his cologne or deodorant, it?s his actual skin. It has gotten so bad that my skin crawls every time he tries to touch me.
I feel completely terrible. I mean, I love my husband. I?m thinking maybe my body is subconsciously saying, ?No. Stay away. This man is the reason you have felt like garbage for the last eight weeks.? I don?t know, but it seems a lot of other moms due late winter/early spring are also dealing with crazy pregnant lady aversions of their own. Aversions to places, the way things feel, and smells that are totally unrelated to food. A few moms on BabyCenter Community revealed a few of their own.

?I went on vacation to a lodge in the mountains when I was about 7 weeks pregnant (right when I started feeling nauseated), and now when I think about that location I feel sick. The vacation makes me sick to remember, even though it was beautiful and I was with my great family. I also couldn't finish the book I was reading at that time because it makes me sick to think of it. So weird!!...
