Why parents should worry about Snapchat's new map feature

As if parents didn't already have enough to worry about when it comes to monitoring kids' social media use, here's one more to add to the list: The introduction of a new map feature on Snapchat.
It's call Snap Map -- and it allows users to see the exact location of other users whom they've accepted as friends. (Creepy, right") Your real-time location is updated only when you're running the app, and although anyone can be found and "friended" on the popular app, users have to first accept these requests. This means snaps and locations can only be viewed by users you've accepted as friends, which definitely takes the creepiness factor down a notch.

After watching the video, I can see how Snap Map might be useful. But to me, it still has "stalker potential" written all over it. Law enforcement officials seem to agree about the possible dangers Snap Map poses to kids, and they're speaking out on social media. ?The tracker allows you to view the exact location of your friends,? the Morris Police Department posted on Facebook. ?It can give you the area, town and street and if you zoom in enough, it shows the house on the street layout.?
