World Breastfeeding Week inspires new #treeoflife brelfies you have to see
by Melissa Willets posted in Parenting
You might remember being wowed last year by the #treeoflife images moms created, using the picture-editing app  PicsArt, in celebration of the beauty of nursing. Now, inspired by World Breastfeeding Week 2017, new stunning brelfies (selfies taken while you breastfeed for the uninitiated; don't worry, you're not alone) have popped up on social media.
According to Sophia Arakelyan from PicsArt, these latest brelfies are not only a celebration of the natural act of feeding babies with nourishing breast milk, but they are also a way for breastfeeding mothers around the world to show their support for one another.
She adds that the #treeoflife "phenomenon" that started sweeping the Internet in 2016 is yet another way that women are attempting to normalize breastfeeding.
What I love about these images is they show all different kinds of moments. From a mother who tandem breastfeeds twins, to a mom practicing extended breastfeeding, to a newborn baby who may be latching on for the very first time, these photos show the many varied experiences of being a mom who breastfeeds.
What all of these PicsArt-enhanced brelfies have in common, though, is they show moms who love their kids, love feeding them, and want everyone to see that it's normal and beautiful to breastfeed. No matter where you are, how old your child is, how many children you breastfeed, if it came easily to you, if it's a struggle, if you did it for 6 month...
