Yes, toddlers can still get diaper rash

So your "baby" is now running around, wreaking havoc on your living toy room, and exploring every cabinet/staircase/object reachable from a two-foot level" Congratulations! You're (hopefully) getting some sleep and ready to kiss some of the harder parts about parenting a baby good-bye.
But guess what doesn't go away quite yet" Diapers. Even if you're one of the amazing few who potty-trained your child at 18 months, you're probably still diapering at night which means you too are privy to the enigma that is toddler diaper rash. And let me tell you, just when you think you've become The Diaper Rash Whisperer, toddlerhood will throw you a curveball.
I can tell you because I've been there. Three times. Toddler diaper rash can be a bit of a different animal than infant rash. In my last post, I listed some of the top causes of diaper rash in babies. Many of these still apply, but during the toddler stage I found the causes solidly grouped in three camps:
Food: At this point, you've generally eased up on the only-introduce-one-food-at-a-time strategy and your kiddo is trying new things fairly often. (They may not be liking them, but that's another post entirely!) At this point, there are so many new foods that it's hard to keep track of what might be irritating them but common irritants include citrus fruits, juices, tomatoes and tomato-based products (spaghetti sauce), strawberries, pineapples, and other tart fruits.
