Your baby's best summer ever is just 7 easy steps away

Summer is all about ease. Feet in the sand, lounging by the pool, sleeping late.
Wait. You have a baby now, right" Scratch those lazy summer plans.
The good news is that summer can still be easy with a baby in tow, and surprisingly, way more fun than ever before. With extra-long days soaked in sunshine, there are so many ways to celebrate the season with your sweet baby. Here are some of my favorites.
Have a day at the museum
At first I balked at the idea of visiting a museum with my baby. After all, museums tend to be hushed, thoughtful spaces -- and my baby had colic and was inconsolable for hours at a time.
Our first visit to an art museum was some kind of magic, though. The museum was cool and soothing, the perfect respite from the afternoon summer heat. My son was enchanted by the bright colors of a contemporary art exhibition and surprised me by responding to particular pieces. When he began to squawk, I found a bench in a quiet room and nursed him in front of a gorgeous Expressionist painting. It has become one of my favorite memories of early motherhood.
If you don't have access to a pool, simply bring your infant bathtub or some buckets outside for an afternoon of water play.
