Nothing says winter in London quite like ice skating at Somerset House, so despite the rain, we piled into the car one chilly Sunday morning to see if it was still as magical as we had remembered. And of course, we weren?t disappointed. As you walk through the beautiful arched entry to Somerset House, the first thing that strikes you is the 40 foot Moet & Chandon Christmas tree, resplendent in all its baubled-glory. Once we were booted up, we tentatively hit the ice, my husband irritatingly disappearing into the distance with the ease of someone who has done this many times before. As for the rest of us" More like young fouls taking their first steps! Thankfully said husband reappeared and took Willow the youngest with him, my middle daughter Georgia grabbed a Skate Mate, and with a beaming grin on her face, was looking confident in no time.
